FENCING FAQ

A few things homeowners usually ask.

What affects the cost of a new fence?

Fence type, total footage, height, gates, terrain, access, removal of existing fencing and other site conditions can all affect the final price. Pitboss builds the estimate around the actual property and project.

Do I need to know exactly where my property lines are?

You should know where you want the fence and where your property boundaries are before installation. If the boundary is uncertain, a property survey may be needed before the final fence layout is established.

What about underground utilities before fence posts are dug?

Underground public utilities should be marked through Pennsylvania One Call / 811 before excavation. Private lines or systems on the property may not be included in public utility markings and may need to be identified separately.

Do you repair existing fences?

Yes. Pitboss can look at failing posts, damaged sections, gates and other repairs and tell you whether repair or replacement makes more sense.

Do I need to know the exact footage before contacting you?

No. An approximate measurement can help, but it is not required. Choose “Not sure yet” in the estimate and send photos if you have them.
